Update: Novice Astronomer Adds Evergreen Guides

Some of my fellow club members may have noticed I didn’t post a recap of the last meeting with Gary’s fascinating presentation. That’s not an oversight—it’s part of a bigger plan.

I’m expanding Novice Astronomer from a simple blog into a full website with beginner-friendly evergreen guides. More than just recaps, these are resources designed to last, so someone who stumbles across the site months or years from now can still find them useful. Gary’s talk absolutely deserves that treatment, and though I’m tied up with other projects at the moment, it will get its own page soon.

In the meantime, I’d like to point out my new Start Here hub in the top navigation. This hub pulls together blog posts and evergreen pages that serve as beginner guides for anyone new to astronomy.

You’ll find my very first evergreen page there: a beginner star party guide inspired by Paul’s Astro 101 sky tour, which I experienced for the first time at a recent star party.

But don’t worry, the blog isn’t going anywhere. It’ll just be sharing space with these longer-lasting guides, so the site becomes a mix of quick updates and deeper resources.

Thanks for following along—I’m excited for what’s ahead, and I hope you’ll check out the new hub and first guide while you’re here!
